Best compliment I got this week: A nice young lady at the cupcake meetup asked me if the pink shirt I wore was American Apparel. I told her I am too fat for American Apparel, but thanks!
Last week was Social Media Week and the parties were flowing.
I went to the Shorty Awards, met MC Hammer and drank too many fail whales.
Friday I went to the New York screening of Nerdcore Rising at the 92nd Y Tribeca which was directed and produced by the wonderful Negin Farsad. She is definitely on my list of “people I know who should be famous”.
Saturday was Valentine’s Day, and the guy and I went to see Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings at the Nokia Theatre. It was a great show!

Yesterday, I visited the brand new Museum of Art and Design at 2 Columbus Circle. There’s some cool work there. The Artist studio on the 6th floor had Harlem artist Charles McGill working on a golf bag. He decoupages golf bags with African American images and quotes that he finds through Google searches on the internet. The result is iconic patterns created by repetition of .jpgs.
