By Nichelle Stephens
I love Dianne Jacob’s blog, Will Write For Food. She gives the best advice on food writing and writing in general. She’s my Anne Lamott. Anyone I plan to blog more here on NichelleStephens.com and thanks to Dianne, I am going to face these three writing challenges.
1. I am not a good enough writer. I have been writing online for nine years, but I have been writing since I was a kid. I have been paid to write, and yet I feel uneasy calling myself a writer.
2. Why should anyone care what I have to say? There are so many blogs. There are so many writers. Not everyone is going to read my writing, but I have a unique perspective that will resonate with some. So I must keep writing for myself and for the few who will appreciate it.
3. Everyone else is doing better than I am. Bloggers are getting book deals and TV shows. Sometimes I am happy for their success. Sometimes I wonder why I haven’t been offered a deal. Many people are doing better than me. I am doing than some. I have to been fine with being in the middle.
