Wednesday, I attended the taping of a very special Martha Stewart show. It was an all blogger show and everyone in the audience were bloggers. My Dell laptop battery lasted about 30 minutes so I couldn’t live blog/twitter the whole show, but it was fun. Martha Stewart and HP kindly gave away All-In-One Printers to everyone in the audience. I can’t wait to get mine in a few weeks!
Wednesday evening, Cupcakes Take The Cake had a Cupcake Social at The Delancey. There were so many cupcakes, that I don’t think I can eat any for the next week.
Friday was LikeMind, and after that I met with the founders of SmartyPig. I stopped by the OMMA Expo Hall, and met Barbi from Kontera. In the evening I went to the Montauk Club in Park Slope to celebrate Eric’s birthday. I had two delicious Key Lime Martinis and chatted with friends. Today I feel a little anti-social so I’m staying close to home tonight.
The lovely folks from ThisNext were in town for Fashion Week, and they invited us New York Mavens for dinner at Tortilla Flats. Shoshi, Nichelle, Sarah and Patricia were among the group about twenty people talking about social shopping and recommending. Check out one of my lists on This Next.
I had a fantastic time at the Budget Fashionista’s 5th anniversary party.
Bloggers, friends, celebrities were there to celebrate Kathryn Finney.
I got a free pair of jeans! I ate cupcakes! The DJ spun some fun music!

Even though I have been complaining about summer, I was happy to enjoy a nice sunshiney day. I went to the Brooklyn Royalty fashion show and ran into Len and Chris who are friends of mine from Philly.
After the show, we hung out drinking wine on 3 different rooftops, and had a lot of cupcake wine and/or vodka.
Have you heard? It’s New York Fashion Week! Mo from Smashing Darling offered me a plus one to emerging designer Nary Manivong’s show. So I headed up to Flatiron yesterday afternoon despite my summer cold to see the fashion show. Nary’s designs are so beautiful. His lovely dresses and coordinate pieces are clean and modern yet with Grecian accents. They also look comfortable and could go from day to night. However, there wasn’t a runway. Plus, it was so hot in the room that we didn’t stay long.
Luckily, Hill Country was right across the street from the fashion show. Mo and I went to through the complicated process of ordering food so that we can chow down on some beef brisket, mac and cheese and sweet potato mash. What a perfect meal to have after a fashion show!
Since last Thursday, it’s been a busy week with a short respite at Martha’s Vineyard. Last Thursday, I went over to Housing Works where there was a special Southern Lit with ZZ Packer. I didn’t meet ZZ, but I did see the Other Nichelle, Author Tayari Jones (Untelling, Leaving Atlanta). It was good to see Marcy Dermansky (Twins) and her husband Jurgen was there, who I haven’t seen in over a year. Later that night, I went to Leo’s very Tumbly birthday party. Tuesday at the Tech Meetup, Hermann told me that reads my tweets and vacations in Oak Bluffs. Wednesday, I ran into Laena at Little Branch, and tonight (Thursday) I met Lisa of Tasty Lacy at a birthday party for a publicist. Whew!
